9:30am: First stop is Salmon Arm for a supermarket and mobile phone reception so we can find somewhere to stay tonight. Decide on Blaeberry Mountain Lodge near Golden.
12:00pm: Stop at The Last Spike; where the two crews building the Trans-Canada Railway met and finally finished the line. One crew started at the Atlantic and the other at the Pacific and they met here, west of the Rockies in B.C.
2:50pm: Stopped at a river crossing (the name of which escapes me at the moment) which looked like it might be good for a few photos. It was.
4:30pm: Our accommodation for the night turns out to be a small log cabin in a paddock completely surrounded by snow-capped mountains. It also has a small kitchen so we head into Golden for some food and a bottle of wine.
6:30pm: Sitting outside the cabin with wine and cheese (again!) watching some small furry animals darting around. We later find out they're gophers.
